What do you use the Kong for? I don't know why a puppy kong would be better than an adult one. If Murphy seems interested in working for his food, you can start making him frozen kongs in the adult one.
Yes, here I am in the puppy forums again LOL
Anyway, I'm about to order some new toys for Murphy. I was wondering when I should switch over to the red Kong products? I've heard mixed things, but he hasn't destroyed his puppy kong yet and his teeth haven't started to fall out, but he's definitely teething. The Kong website said stick to the puppy line for 3-9 months, but that seems way too long? He just turned 15 weeks yesterday. I just don't want to spend $20 on stuff he'll be outgrowing in a month or so.
Thanks!

If the kong is laying on the floor, he'll usually go over and chew on it for awhile and then switch to another toy. Since he's in teething mode, I like to soak it in cold water and throw it in the freezer for about an hour to soothe his gums (he also for some reason likes cold things?). We play fetch with it in the yard as well and I occasionally throw some kibble inside and roll it around on the floor to keep him occupied.
I was looking at the teething stick that they have, as well as the treat ball that rolls around for food and allows for chewing. They make adult versions of both, so I was just curious if he'd be ok with chewing on that. I'm not sure if the red rubber would be too tough for him right now or if he's starting to outgrow the puppy rubber. He's to the point where when he chomps down on the kong, it flattens out a bit
I think you probably have a month at most left of puppy teeth and puppy rubber sure as heck won't hold up to adult labrador teeth! Since he hasn't destroyed his puppy kong yet I'd still keep it in play but order adult kongs for the near future. Kimber still enjoys the Kong Wobbler- it's not good for chewing but is a good mental food game.
