Sleep behavior change in 1 year old lab

Hi! We have a 1 1/2 year old lab (spayed when she was 11 months old). She sleeps in bed with us. Recently, she has changed her sleeping habits and sleeps downstairs now? I just went to eat something (I'm also 38 weeks pregnant) and she was sleeping at the bottom of the stairs? My husband recently had a schedule change: he was home all summer with her and is now back to teaching. We started noticing her change right around that time. Could that be it? Or can she sense a baby on the way? She is also stubborn about eating in the am and going to the bathroom. No other health concerns. Thanks!

Maybe she is finding the bed too hot? I think it's hot where you are, like it is here. Just be careful going down the stairs that you don't trip over her. Whatever the reason it doesn't sound like anything to worry about.

Some of my friends did baby preparation games with the dog, to accustom them to the idea that Mom would soon be carrying a precious package wrapped up in snuggle blankets. They got them from either their Doctor or their Vet. Are you trying some things like that? You can probably find such things on the internet these day. Just, I'm getting a bit of a worry vibe about the baby from you. Maybe?

oh do I ever feel your pain. My younger dog snuggled in bed every night for the first year she was with me (adopted her around 7-10 months of age). Suddenly this spring she decided she prefered sleeping DOWNSTAIRS. I am still insulted and hurt haha. I tried forcing her to stay with a baby gate but that just meant she refused to come in my room for her bedtime treat. I am coming to terms with it and as long as she is "clean" in the house and behaved - i let her do it.

Reasons - well could be any number of reasons. maybe just maturity even. Could be the schedule change. Could be the heat.

Well, we have our window AC at 64! I am wondering if I maybe use too many pillows and am moving around and peeing too much that it's disturbing her LOL ... Haven't tried any games with her yet but that is a good idea. thanks!

I know I honestly think I am moving around too much. I also sleep with 4 pillows LOL..... I miss having her in there! However, my husband and I always say how much she disturbs our sleep. HAHA don't think it's the heat because we have our AC at 64 in our bedroom.. who knows!

some dogs do prefer to be downstairs or somewhere they can watch over everyone. Penny also had beds in my room she used after her cuddles and even those don't keep her attention.

Seriously it's been many months and I still can't get over it LOL! I joke that I adopted her because of her snuggles, how dare she stop! (she was a foster failure)
