I wish I had stories to tell you! Bubba is 8 months old and is basically constantly giving me the middle finger. Like oh you want me to stop eating mud and come? YEAH RIGHT! *runs in other direction to find more mud*
Good luck!
Quincy is almost 9 months old and we are definitely in the adolescent age!!! He has started digging in the yard (please get cold and freeze soon!!!!) and the other day after my husband told him to stop, he ran to a new spot, stopped and looked at my husband....did a quick dig like you cant tell me and took off. Just like with kids, I am hoping someday we will look back and laugh lol
So tell me your lab stories! Re assure me that the destructive days will pass! That the naughtiness will be something we look back on and miss...maybe lol This is not meant to be a serious post, I just want to hear that its not just us.

When Daisy was around that age, my BF (now my DH) and I left to go run an errand and left Daisy out of her crate. We were gone no more than 30 minutes and Daisy managed to chew a 6 inch hole right in our mattress! Good thing it was a double-sided pillow top. She did a few more naughty things during her puppyhood but now at 5, almost 6 years old she's a perfect angel. We recently took her over to a friend's house who have a 5 month old lab puppy and they just loved Daisy and commented over and over again about how great she was and they hoped their dog turned out like her.
So hang in there, it definitely does get better. You're almost through the toughest part and while you may see a little glimmer of puppy naughtiness every now and again (like eating a whole pizza off the coffee table) so that you don't forget why you got a big goofy lab in the first place, they really are the best.
well...Rocky at 11 will dig - pretend to be death when I tell him to stop, look at me like "what!?" when I interrupt. He will also sneak around to go dig. :P

Its so nice to hear I am not the only one with a dog that is naughty!! Sometimes you just have to hear it from others!!
Dont get me wrong, I love this guy but his personality is so different from out first lab. She was a one of a kind, and he is too, just in his own way Polar opposites, I feel like she never pushed any limits and its his goal in the day to push every limit lol SO much like human children. I know someday I will miss these days
Rocky is also a poop eater. any time outside is greatly supervised :P luckily Rocky doesn't usually want to be outside without me (some days he doesn't want to be outside even if I am out haha).

Maverick had a thing with pulling branches off of trees and running around with them. We lost the bottom half of a gorgeous pear tree, an entire arborvitae, some branches from a young maple, and numerous landscaping shrubs.
Hoku has trimmed most of one of the raspberry bushes (though to be fair, she started that a few days after she came home).
... More to the adolescent thing, even for a very easy dog, she engages in selective deafness—I believe my husband taught her this trick—especially when it's time to get in the car in the morning. She'll sit at the top of the porch as we all call her, head to the garage, load up, call her again. She sits there and stairs off into the distance. Finally, whenever it strikes her fancy, she will tear down the steps like a bat out of hell, streak into the garage, and then calmly climb into the car and her crate. You can practically hear her chortling. She clearly finds this the height of humor.
The other morning I was making her breakfast: kibble, some blueberries, grated apple and beet, a little spirulina, a dollop of plain yoghurt, a dusting of nutritional yeast. She typically loves it. But the other morning, a beef hotdog from my son's breakfast fell onto the floor right before I had finished her food. She didn't go for it—she's very good that way—but clearly decided OK THAT'S GOING TO BE MINE THAT'S FOR MY BREAKFAST.
I finished her breakfast. Typically, she comes over, sits patiently and waits for me to put it down, then I tell her to eat, and she does. That day, she stayed at the counter and just looked at me. She was very I DON'T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND THE HOT DOG ISN'T THERE YET. I called her over. She didn't budge. I left the kitchen. She stood there by the counter. I looked back in. She was standing there, staring at me.
She finally ate. But her disappointment was palpable.
