Re-reading all the messages has been so helpful. It's amazing to see the stuff our labs can scoff up and swallow. So far Finley is his usual, funny self. Everything is "moving" smoothly as it should be. I really appreciate the advice and information I can find on this forum. A 6-1/2 month old puppy can be quite a scamp. We need all the help we can get.

Thank you so much - you are the best!

I've tried to view eating tissues or paper towels as my pups wiping themselves from the inside out. Sometimes a little bathroom humor is called for in dealing with these guys!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Just wait until you are sick with a box of Kleenex sitting next to you. Your dog will make quick work of it!

I'm glad you edited before I saw this or I'd have thought you meant a very young baby puppy and for that I would definitely worry. Paper towels are made to NOT break down quickly. You couldn't clean up a soggy mess with a towel that fell apart easily. Plus a whole sheet is big and could certainly clog up a little baby puppy. I'd worry if a full grown Lab swallowed a whole sheet. Toilet paper is made to break down so it will digest in your septic tank or sewer system. Face tissue (kleenex) is not, and is meant to hold together more. That's why you should not put paper towels or tissue down your toilet, only put TP in your toilet. Only allow your puppy to eat TP, no, wait, kidding on the last bit.
