So very sorry for your loss of Duke. These dogs become attached to your heart the very moment you get one and when they leave that part of your heart becomes 'Dog'. Duke is running and playing across the Bridge with our other pups just waiting to see you again.

Rest gently and play hard sweet Duke.

Thank You to everyone. Yes, as someone said that they take a piece of your heart that is soo true. I'm still adjusting to having one dog now. Some hard parts is going on walks, or only filling one dog dish. He loved getting kisses on his head and telling him how good of boy he was. He never spelled like a dog he had a very neutral fur smell to him so I used to bury my face on him. I can't believe is gone as he was soo healthy, but his kidneys failed and there was nothing that could be done. Yes, Duke dying was one reason I came back, but also I missed those signs kidney failure. The day or two before his vet appointment I knew he was in trouble when he would not even sniff human food. I called the vet back and asked for an appointment that was sooner at anytime I was taking work off weather they liked it or not. The end result would not have been different
