Remembering My Sweet Montana One Year Later.

Here I am one year later. I miss him dearly and reading the original post where I announced his passing brings out any tears I suppressed all along the way because believe me ( and I know you all do...) that just because we don't talk about every reminder doesn't mean they aren't there and doesn't mean they don't hurt still. To sit in his spot on the couch feels lonely without him. Yes I miss him. So very much. And although I am so very blessed to have Dakota and China in my life, each dog is special. A piece of my heart will always belong to Montana. I still have not gotten the tattoo I want in his memory yet, only because I just cannot decide what to do. When I accomplish that I will post a picture.
I was so lucky to have had his friendship for 11 1/2 years. I hope I did it right for him. His beautiful soul.....still with me.

I also remember each and everyone that has gone ahead and know how you feel.

More hugs. The vet and DH yesterday talked about slowing, not stopping, Kimber's decline. It's rough.

It's good to remember them, even if it hurts. It won't hurt so much in time and you find the memories bring mostly smiles.

I had the weirdest dream with my first dog in it a few nights ago. Teddy has been gone for 45 years but there he was, full of life. Just as in life he was trying to escape our yard and I was running after him. It was great though, because there he was in full colour, his glorious coat of brown, black and white shining. Most of my photos of him are black and white, as they are of everything back then. I have no idea what brought that dream about but I was glad to see him.

The journey grief puts you through is never easy. It's because of the depth of love you gave him and he gave you. He gave you so many beautiful memories.

Know how you feel. I was not and still can't do memorial videos of Patch, Potion, Melody, Bandit or Mardi. I start and then become to overwhelmed. Each are with me every day and I feel their presence which I am so thankful for.

I remember the drop in my stomach when I read about him. It happened again when I saw your memorial thread. I can't believe it's been a year! I'd love to see the tattoo when you decide on it.
