Thank you all for your kind words. Bitty was special, they all are. Such a fighter she was, so wicked to some of our other cats, so happy with the dogs.
Like many ferals Bitty only ever cosied up to us. But her bond with Jet was something to wonder at and caused her to make a couple of mistakes in her life. Bitty would come to visit with people who really, really liked Jet. There were only three, one was my Mum. One really wasn't that keen on cats but Bitty would come out to see him anyway. Not close enough for any of them to touch her, mind you, just to see her. My friend, who LOVES cats, the one I trade cat sitting with, never saw much more of Bitty than the end of her tail as she streaked to hide. When my friend came to cat sit either the dog was with us or at the boarding kennel. No dog here for the person to gush over so Bitty didn't come out.

I am so sorry for your loss.
Bitty had an amazing life with you and Jet. Odd being a feral cat that she would prefer a dog over other cats, truly a special bond she had with Jet.

So very sorry for your loss

I'm sorry Nancy, Bitty was quite the special little girl.
I also hadn't realized she was that ill.
Mom's cat Midnight also was hyperthyroid, and when i kitty sat in the winters, she would come and sit for her special "ear rub", another cat who when they didn't need the gauntlets at the vets, realized how very sick she was....
I'm sure she's having a great time with Jet again

Bitty was, is beautiful.
Bitty, don't take it badly when another cat sidles up to Jet. It's confirmation of your good taste. :)
Best thoughts.
