Bitty Went to Meet Jet at the Bridge Yesterday

Itty Bitty Kitty was helped to the Bridge yesterday. She purred peacefully in my arms till she left on her new journey.

Bitty was a feral we live trapped, a fighting handful of fury that seemed to overcome any fright she had. OUr intention was to spay her and find a home on farm; she could be a barn cat. But she fell in love with Jet, our previous Lab. Then she slowly transferred to me. I will never forget the first day she came up on my lap, of her own free will. Her little black face asking me if she could, would I mind, would I hurt her, was she safe.

Bitty kept her bond with Jet. If one of the other cats made friendly with Jet Bitty would go and whack the other cat. "My dog." Bitty would tell them. I'm surprised she let me pet my own dog. Jet has been gone herself since 2007 . I hope Bitty doesn't go whack some cat Jet made friends with in the past 10 years.

We miss you, Bitty. God speed.

So sorry for your loss. You gave her a safe life by taking her in and she repaid you with special love. It takes a lot of trust for her to open her heart to you. Now she is with HER Jet, another special relationship.

    Rest In Peace Bitty

My condolences. You have a special gift of having feral cats to feel comfortable with you and your family. Bitty had a great home and life because of you.

Neither did we. She declined markedly yesterday. Bitty has been hyperthyroid for about a year, on meds. Ear gel, which she actually liked having applied, being one of those cats who likes her ears rubbed. The Vet said with her age (19 in July) her thyroid, her condition, it was kinder to let her go. I thought so myself when I took her in but I didn't think so on Monday. It's the only time the Vet has seen her that she wasn't fighting like the devil and needing three people to hold her down, another sign.
