Thank you all. Yes it is devastating. I often felt like with Montana -we were so lucky we had so much time with him after finding out he had cancer. We knew...with Dakota I had honestly no idea this was going on inside her. Started the week spoiling my precious princess as usual and ended the week without her...I know it takes time and I am moving through this but I have to say-there is a huge void without her. My husband and I are having a hard time with coming home. Dakota was always the barker. China-never barks. So coming home to quiet hurts. There were so many things about her that I am just at a loss without. 13 years is a long time. We had a bond and I am less without her. Much less.

I have been in contact with a tattoo artist. I'll post on a separate thread my idea so you guys can see.

^^^^This is what hurt me very much when I lost my Cracker. He was always active and excited when I came home, then after I lost him the house was so empty-it felt like a cardboard box for a homeless person. Gabe is a barker and I love it. He gets so excited that he runs around sometimes does zoomies and brings some of his squeaky toys to me. I just love it!!!!

Aww Im so glad your Gabe is exuberant when you arrive home. China is wiggly and happy don't get me wrong but its quiet.

my goodness, just got the voicemail from the vet that Dakota's remains are ready for me to pick up. It's taken my breath away.

This was a very'difficult' time for me when I picked up Cracker's ashes. Driving home I just broke down in tears holding his box.

--same with my Montana. As I am certain it will be with sweet precious Dakota. I am still in shock I think....
