    Monty

Monty (Montana) was my friends' Giant Schnoodle (Giant Schnauzer/Poodle)....a big black goofy bundle of love. At certain times of the year...like now...I'd run into my friends with their two dogs (Monty and his sister Wink) and sometimes I'd hear them before I'd see them. Bunny? Squirrel? Deer? BARK BARK...squeak...BARK BARK...squeak squeak....etc. Wink has a normal large dog bark. Monty, when excited, sounded like the smallest little rubber squeak toy you've ever heard. He embraced his inner puppy.

Monty, you were a wonderful dog...you know I miss you...and you'll always be my favorite. Run Free, sweetheart...

Oh, sweet Monty, sounds like you were a good, good boy who will be missed by many friends. I bet he was cute.

I know little schnauzers can have a high, squeaky, shrill bark sometimes, and I guess a schnoodle could inherit that from his schnauzer parent, but I didn't think the big guys would share that trait.

Oh yeah. Danny's squeaky stuffies have larger barks than Monty did.

Oh, I'm sorry. It's hard to lose our friends' dogs. Is Monty one of the dogs from your other thread?

Well....Dan became reactive by the age of 2 and didn't like Monty (big puppy) upon first meeting him. That would put Monty somewhere around 6 1/2 - 7...if my memory's working like it should. I think Monty was already about 6 months when they first got him from his breeder. Dan may have been a bit younger, though, and just reacted to the big black mass of energy as opposed to his actually being a dog. Or maybe Dan was a bit older than 2, making Monty younger. Crap memory...sorry. But Monty was not an old dog.

Standard Poodles and Giant Schnauzers both show a lifespan of 12 - 15 years and Monty was nowhere near that.

Wink is a good bit younger and no signs of problems as far as I know.
