I'm so sorry for your loss of two wonderful companions so close together. It's not doubly hard, it's exponentially harder. We had a similar thing in 2007 when Jet, who was 14.5 and whose time we knew was coming, was PTS and then Blondie cat, who like your Petey, showed up at the door and stayed, got hit on the road a month later.
I'm sorry. Even though it probably brings tears I hope you think of them often, as you are here. That way they are always with you.

I am so so sorry. I had to put my 14 year old lab down in November - and I miss him terribly. (Dreamed of him last night in fact.) Cannot imagine losing two in such a short time. You are a wonderful pet owner - and your fur babies loved you very very much as you were so very good to them. Maybe when you are ready - a new lab might come into your life.
