    Reese My In-Laws Passed

Sorry my in-laws dog died, not my inlaws.

It has been a really hard summer for the family with pets passing. Between my direct family, my neighbors, and my in-laws we have lost five pets. Fortunately all were extremely loved and lived to their senior years.

Three nights ago my in-laws called to let us know that Reese had passed away in his sleep. He was around 11 years old and was a chocolate lab rescue that we saved from a pound in GA when my daughter was about 6 months. He was a wonderful dog and between my family and my in-laws we took a dog that was fearful of humans to one that loved people, car rides, and hiking. His tempermanet was so wonderful that he could have made the best service dog for calming people. He and Aowyn were the best of friends and after my in-laws moved across the country Aowyn and Reese would get to play together and they picked up right where they left off. He will be immensely missed.

So sorry to hear Reese has passed. Glad it wasn't your in-laws too, who died.

It's like that here too, in that a family member's dog, a friend's dog, a neighbour's dog is mourned and missed greatly. After seven months of seeing one of my neighbours from afar with a puppy we finally met on the trail yesterday. As I thought, his older girl had passed on. That's three in about a month, all dogs we knew and used to meet on walks. We will miss seeing them all but sadly two of those had cancer and are gone too soon.

So very sorry. It has been a tough summer for your family. There are some very special fur friends reunited and playing pain and illness free.

    Rest In Peace Reese

Yea it has been a hard summer. Reese seemed totally healthy when i saw him in July but sometimes you don't ever know why.

I am so sorry to hear of Reese's passing...I remember him quite well when I was more involved in rescue on this board.

What a peaceful way to pass...

Thank you for saving him...your in-laws gave him a WONDERFUL life...

He is together with Aowyn now..

May he rest gently and always run free...
