    Snowshoe- pistachios

    Last summer you posted something about opening pistachios and how people opened them without killing their fingers. Today on my FB feed, America's Test Kitchen had a little video advising people to use a garlic press to open pistachios. Put one into the press and apply gentle pressure, just enough to crack the shell, and there you have it.

    I forget what you were making but for next time....

    Ah, here we go,

    Thank you. I never thought of that. I did try smashing some with a hammer, but the shell either popped away from the hammer or if I did hit it I smashed the nut too.
