    Saving a brownie pan.

I bought 9' x 13' disposable pans years ago. Just started using them to make brownies and it turns out that the labels were stuck to the bottom of the pans with some kind of clear glue and it leaves a thin clear film when I remove the labels.

Any thoughts on how to salvage these pans? I was thinking putting parchment paper or aluminum foil on the bottom of the pans. Does that sound like it would work?

GOO Gone. Avon Skin-So-Soft oil. I'd recommend trying to remove it with one of these products...and then washing really good afterwards. You may have to scrub with the product itself if its been on there a long time (like with a pan scrubbie).

How about peanut butter? Works on other sticky stuff, easy to wash off, or make PB brownies.

Since they're disposable pans, and probably difficult to wash without bending them so out of shape they'd be hard to use, I'd try the parchment or foil. Try it on one pan to start, maybe even with nothing else in the pan, to make sure the residue doesn't spread out or burn, causing some sort of fumes.

I would combine the above suggestions. I would use goo gone, wash well, then silpat or parchment paper.

Rubbing alcohol. Usually involves lots of elbow grease as well.

If it's convenient, I'd take them back to the store. Too much junk being sold, it's the only way they'll stop.

They were on clearance. I think I know why. It's just the ones on top and I used the others so I think I'm stuck with it.

I'm a huge (sorry i even said that) fan of dawn, the original turquoise color. gets stains out of everything, even if it means you must wash it three times, but even gets dye out. anyway, i'd soak it in dawn and hot water, and then peel. i bet it will work. after all, they use it to get that horrid oil slick off the ducks.
