talked with my vet surgeon friend over weekend...his jaw dropped when I told him didnt get the dog..."did they not think you were a responsible dog owner?" I said nah, they just said dog wasnt right for me. He consoled me with some viewpoints I wont bother share here due to friendship. Gonna put my looking to adopt on hold til summertime. Thanks all for the support/help. still might just buy a pup because with my background I dont have a fond experience for applying for stuff...I just do what I feel is right/take charge kinda guy.
I have to say - if you stated and described what you wanted in a dog I don't get the issue of them saying he didn't fit that. They in NO WAY said you were a bad dog owner. They just said "you explained what kind of dog you want and this dog doesn't fit that". Isn't this a GOOD thing?? Why waste your time going to meet a dog that doesn't meet your requirements?

well just got a call for a 2yr old black female lab thats in foster with 2 lab older brothers...hopefully a perfect match.
