Good luck. I tried and failed to adopt three times. I got turned down each time because I was single and each time they thought a better fit for the pups was a home with a family. I will *never* go through that again. I was attempting to adopt a rescued lab..under a year old. I purchased Samson and he has had the best home ever. I just got Asher from the same breeder. I have a very happy home with four lovely fur kids (2 kitties). Samson changed my life! :-)

I won't say it's not annoying. Speaking as a single dog owner :P And having worked with fosters to place dogs it was a HUGE PIA. Some rescues do a better job than others. But I've adopted out to many single working people. I got my first dog (rocky) from a rescue that knew me more or less so that helped.

well tomorrow is big day....bringing my wife along this time...gonna meet this 2 yr old black beauty. any tips in regards to how I should act? I was just myself last time and that was a bust
It's such a roller coaster. Hopefully the meeting will go well. Of course, the final decision is Chilli's. For the meeting, relax. You and Chilli will know if it's a good fit.
Never forget, there is a set of brown eyes out there just waiting for both of you.

good luck!
be yourself. the only thing i'd say is watch the dog's body language and let them come to you (or go down to their level). but odds are a lab will tackle you I had one lab foster that was pretty anti-social with strangers (not aggressive or timid per say just didn't say hello to humans cuz he didn't find them interesting) but he was lovey with "his" people (me at the time). People were pretty put off by that though.

Tanya--I have one of those dogs. Great with my niece and myself, but not interested in most other people unless they have a treat for him.
Voodoo-- Just be you. Good luck today. If not today, there will be another day. There is "the one" waiting for you--doesn't matter if you adopt or buy, they are waiting just for you.
