I agree with the above-be yourself or they will see thru it and turn you down because you were not sincere.

MOJO she is 'the one' and everything goes well. If you can, some pictures of her would be great.

Good luck, Just be yourself! Stay positive and mean it, dogs can sense your energy (positive or negative) and when your faking it.

If I calculate my time and money its gonna be cheaper to buy a new pup...but its an enjoyable experience to go spend some time with homeless dogs that have been abandoned...just seems the odds are so bad...are these odds arent created by me...I probably would of adopted the last 2...but was told no by others.

Just a question. Where did you and Chili go to meet the black female? At the house she's fostered at? Perhaps that caused a bit of a problem. It's kind of standard to meet a new dog at a neutral place, where there isn't any territotialism going on. Perhaps you can suggest a quiet park, or someplace else for the next meet and greet. Good luck. The perfect dog is still waiting for you and Chili.

I would think that they would have done an introductory walk, so they could see each other but just walk together at first, then meet if that went well. Rescues and shelters are all over the place on how they handle placements. Sigh.

I am sorry Voodoo, keep trying.

the rescue hit by a car when young and the foster has 2 more labs and it was never noticed. we met at a vet clinic and tried to do some walks back and forth along with sniffs, ut when chili went to sniff she was vocal w/teeth and tail between legs...so I guessed defensive of foster. it was worth the time and no harm/foul. when chili wasnt around, she was very calm and friendly with perfect sits and leash manners...she loves her fosters tho which were much younger than me. think Im really going to be more picky on selecting the next lab...my chili isnt perfect, but his flaws dont bother me.
