10-Year Old Lab in Kamloops, BC

    -img_0998-jpg

This is Calle. She's 10 years old. Available for adoption from the Kamloops, BC SPCA. Currently in foster. Here's her description:

"Calle is with us in her old age in search of a retirement home! She is a 10 year old yellow Labrador Retriever who is basking in the finer details of life. She enjoys sun bathing, indulging in treats and playing fetch. Although she may be a senior, senior animals often make the best pets and are the most overlooked in shelters everywhere.

Senior animals are often mature, house trained and generally more settled. It is important to keep in mind that they can sometimes come with a few more veterinary expenses - just like people, we need to see the doctor more frequently as we age! But we've taken her to a Veterinarian while she has been with us who has said she is healthy, and there is nothing atypical of an older dog and her organs are all in good working order!

She is eager to go for leisurely strolls, and is pretty tolerant of other dogs and puppies. Calle only has one request - not to have to share her tennis ball if she doesn't have to. We've assured her we'll tell her new family to stock the toy cupboard with plenty! Calle is pretty easy going and would likely adjust to having a feline sibling, too. She has previously been around children, and appreciates calmer, dog-savvy tiny humans. If you're ready for the commitment of a senior gem and think that Calle would be a good match for you please speak with shelter staff."

I have a weak spot for senior dogs.

I hope no one thinks all my recent adoption posts are spammy. My province (BC) doesn't have a lab-specific rescue organization that I know of. Usually good-natured labs (or of any breed/mix) at the SPCA get adopted out fairly quickly but I figure lots of people check this forum without logging in. Maybe a few from BC are here and might be looking for an adult lab. Plus this thread doesn't seem as active as the others right now so I thought it wouldn't hurt to give it some love.
