2-Year Old Chocolate Lab in Maple Ridge, BC

    At the Maple Ridge BCSPCA:

    -img_1115-jpg

Spayed female. 40 kg. House trained & okay with dogs.

"Kahlua was surrendered after her owner was unable to care for her any longer. She lived as a constant companion with her previous owner and they were rarely apart. She would love for her new family to be home often and have lots of time for her. Being a Lab she is high energy and needs lots of activity to keep her happy. She absolutely will play a game of fetch any day and any time! She loves any toy she can get her paws or mouth on. She is good with other dogs, we are unsure of cats but she may be ok if properly introduced. She is good with new people but has not had much time around children. She is very excitable and jumpy still. We are recommending a home with dog savvy kids over 10 years. Kahlua is a strong girl, not suitable for a frail guardian. She pulls on leash however we have fitted her with an easy walk harness and she is making good progress. She is house broken and a very intelligent girl eager to learn more commands and tricks."

She's already off the adoption page which means she's been adopted! I don't know if I should post available labs here anymore. They get adopted so quickly!

That's all the encouragement I need, lol.

In my province, the SPCA used to get a lot of puppies but not anymore. This past year, I've noticed a significant number of small (senior) dogs. The majority of the dogs are large though, mostly mixes of pit bulls, shepherds, huskies, and labs. A lot of them aren't good with other dogs, so when there's a purebred-looking lab who's social & simply exuberant, adoption happens quickly.

The Rescue thread looked pretty inactive so I thought I'd post to it. It's starting to look like a BC rescue board! BC doesn't have a lab rescue group like Ontario does so...

Someone stop me if it looks too spammy!

I may not be "in the market" but I have never once thought of anything remotely resembling spam when I've read any of your posts. You just never know when someone interested might see one and follow up.
