On a sad note from Unwanted Pets of NYC, Gina's health issues were left unattended far too long and she passed in the arms of someone who loved her. It escapes me how people can abandon an animal in such need but her case is not the first I've seen and won't be the last.

    "A Final Wag"

When taking Gina into my heart, I only wished she would take me into hers ... as broken as it was.In the end, she became a dog again. Loving her owner, loyal, and trusting ... Her owner became me.
She laid her body on me, looked up at me, wagged her tail as to say thank you ... She passed away just like that. Her head on my lap, my tears rolling down her ears as I breathed her in for the last time.
    Be free my girl.

I am glad this sweet soul was able to pass in the arms of someone who loved her, even for only such a short time. Run free sweet Gina. I know you were greeted by many wagging tails and wet noses when you crossed the bridge.

I am so glad Gina had someone to hold and love her as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Rest easy sweet girl.

    Godspeed Gina.
