Rescued: 8 month old partially blind choc lab and senior old blk lab

PLEASE CROSS POST !!!!
There is transport available for either or both of these babies to an approved rescue or home.
They are both in a HIGH KILL shelter in East TN . This shelter euthanizes daily as needed for space and the shelter will not say how long any dog has ....in other words THEY NEED OUT ASAP !!!!

This is Cammie . She is around 8 months old and a beautiful girl . The photo doesn't do her justice . She is a rich , deep chocolate color that we rarely see in this area .
She is active and happy . She loves other dogs . Cammie is very healthy and in good weight . Her only issue is that one of her eyes has been injured or never developed . We believe she is blind in that eye , BUT it doesn't slow her down any . PULL FEE $80 includes spay , vaccinations ( except rabies ) , worming and physical exam .
I am trying to get better photos that show how lovely Cammie really is.

ZAK.jpg

This is Zak .....his owner died .....this was found out because he IS micro chipped . When the shelter tried to contact the family they learn the original owner had died and the family gave poor Zak away and apparently the new owners don't want him any longer . SO HERE HE IS .....a dog who once was so LOVED that his owner had him micro chipped and now he is homeless in a kill shelter - next on the list to be PUT DOWN any time . He is a healthy , neutered 11 yr black lab boy . Good with other dogs .No health issues other than some stiff joints every once in a while . PULL FEE $35

Anne, bless you for taking Zak. Just seeing this older gentleman dumped in the shelter makes me want to cry.

Casey has already responded to my email. She says she can get Zak to Danbury, CT on the 24th. Since Danbury is four hours away from me, I am hoping I can get help to get him to NH.

OMG...thank you...thank you

stories like these break my heart and we can never take any of them because of the "young" hippies we have.

I was hoping someone would be able to help.

Any takers on Cammie, the chocolate lab? She is so pretty.

Zak is going to his temporary foster home in TN this afternoon. He will hitch a ride around the 23/24 to Danbury. Can anyone help me get him from Danbury to NH? He will be in my nice warm, comfy home for Thanksgiving!

BUMP

I never heard back on my offer.
Also wondering, would Zak come with a crate ?
Cause I drive a two door convertible, I can fit
all three of my dogs in it, but not a crate !

Sorry Marie, I have been corresponding with Gina and I thought she has been relaying my messages. No, he does not need a crate. I am still working out the details. I will be in touch as soon as I know anything definite.

So Zak is safe. Do we want to start a new thread for Cammie? I hate to move the thread if we can still help her.
