yes I would give him some food closer to bed (5pm to 6am is more than 12 hours so he may be hungry). Make sure to reduce his supper to account for the extra food.
then ignore.

A dog's hearing...
I would ignore him or just tell him to go back to bed. if it's alwasy at the same time it may be a sound he hears that wakes him up.
