I wouldnt do surgery unless dog couldnt put weight on leg. if he can walk, i would try supplements, rehab, therapy, etc...1st...surgery last resort.
Im pretty sure they use a scope in all joint surgeries...thats how they see inside the joints. Im just saying I wish in my case I didnt rush to surgery and tried some other things first. the reason...
most surgeons wont know how bad it is til they get in there with scope.
when chili had surgery, the surgeon went off the ct scans and scope. in chili case they scoped both elbows but only one elbow was bad and that where most of the work was done. for my chili surgery...
I would make surgery last resort. maybe some supplements or time off or even physical therapy should be done 1st.
the surgery is in the joint where the surgeon attempts to remove all fragments and if needed sculpt the bone to be smooth as to not create any more bone chips.
if you do surgery, pray its done right the 1st time because additional surgeries arent very successful.
