Vectra3D dries much faster than any other topical I have used. I put it on before bed and Maxx is in the pool the next day. I have never had any issues with it losing effectiveness.

I prefer not to use products on my dogs until they have been around long enough to have a history behind them and my vet does not recommend using it. Although I have read many stories of sick dogs...
I would not use it either. I use Heartguard Plus year round and Vectra3D as needed.
