So glad Oban is still looking and acting young! Cassie (on the left in my sig pic) is 12 1/2. still looks relatively young and certainly acts it. Give him a hug from us.
Its a shame when good breeders stop breeding. Tobey's breeders recently announced they were done. I love his lines. super healthy and super handsome. a great loss to the breed.
Tobey finishes very quickly. Cassie its a project. So finicky. And if i walk away Tobey dive bombs Cassie's unfinished food.
So sorry to hear. Glad he went peacefully.
Thanks, he is really spectacular. All credit to Grampian Labs in Rhode Island.
Still around. Lurking mostly these days. Dogs are great so less need to consult the wisdom of the Board....Did almost lose Cassie in December, but pulled her through. Thats Tobey below....
I'm so so sorry to hear. Hoping you get a lot more time with him, sounds like he's a fighter.
Sorry were a bit late, Cassie and Tobey hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas!
In the low teens here, but the pups are very happy to be outside for quite a while. Just let Tobey out and he sat down on the snow and just sniffed the air for at least 30 minutes. Thankfully they...
So so sorry to hear. My heart is with you...
Some great advice above. I agree that fetch is a double edged sword. It does exercise them but definitely ramps them up. Learned that with Cassie. There is NO end once you start. Its better to...
Thanks. I think the procedure they're planning on is the traditional suture stabilization, not the tightrope modification. Will be talking with the surgeon this week I think. I'm so conflicted...
Yeah i struggled with whether to take her to an ortho vet, and if she were younger i would for sure. I'm hoping that the lesser surgery will be sufficient given her age, and that this was from...
So a couple of weeks ago, Cassie started limping, non weight bearing on her rear hind leg. She and Tobey play rough and he jumps on her frequently. Trying to stop that. Finally brought her to the...
We were in the same position last year with Oscar who was almost 14. He wasn't sick but was deteriorating. Weakness in his hind legs making it very difficult to stand up or stay up, increasing...
White is rarely infectious. usually a build up of mucous from either allergies or some foreign body in the eye. Since its both eyes at the same time, I'm going with allergy.
Prong collar here too. As others have said, properly fit and used, its a miracle.
Agree with all the above. Our vet who is a lab person, has no problem with a supervised amount of rawhide and i must say has been a lifesaver. Very large knotted bones only while i can watch. ...
Struggling with this decision. Back in the day, word was to neuter at 6 months. Talking 15 years ago. Now the research speaks to health benefits for not neutering males at all. that said we are...
We have that issue here. Cassie, our 9 1/2 year old is pretty tough dog. Tobey who is now 13 months, is a very rambuctious intact male. Its been quite the year with him as he engages Cassie all...
To help answer the question, let me present Cassie and Tobey!
Had a similar episode years ago with Rosie and Oscar. Parked in the supermarket parking lot one summer eve. Car had had a/c on for the last hour so very cool. shades down. ran in for 10 minutes. ...
Such a great long life Woody. A model to us all. I'll raise a glass tonight to his memory; heres' to you Cooper!!
Both of ours are having this discharge in the morning. if it were an infection they'd have it all day. im assuming allergies, as they have been horrible this year. vet visit next week. the paws...
