By the way, what was the budget for SS? I noticed that some had lots of gifts whilst others did not. I think I read in a previous post that it was around $20 but looking at all those Kongs, I don't believe anyone followed that!
The guideline was $15-20 per dog, so if it was a 2-dog family, $35-40 was appropriate. Some participants went above and beyond. I didn't ask anyone to send me receipts so I could verify :-)

Thanks. Not sure how expensive Kongs are over there but around here, $20 wouldn't buy you a large Kong of any type except the tennis balls!

You can get the extreme rubber Kongs in NY for $7-12.

*jawdrop* What sorcery is this?! A medium extreme Kong starts at $21 here at the big name brands. Our local, small pet store sells them cheaper.

Honestly, I enjoy the gifting so much that I don't pay much attention to what I spend (within reason, of course). Our SS lab was a first timer this year, plus it was his first Christmas ever, so I tried to make it a little more special. Likewise, I'm not looking for a box full of gifts for Gabby - it's truly all about the fun of it for us. I could actually buy for more than 1 lab and be thrilled - hey - maybe I could be a secret shopper for secret Santas that don't have time?!

I tried to stay within reason as well--but tried to get the most bang for my buck. It was fun! And I agree with OH--it's all about the giving!!

I wasn't able to participate this year, but I love seeing what all of the furbabies got. We had a bunch of happy pups.
