Ugh! What a roller-coaster ride of emotions for you. Sending good thoughts your way for Fran.
There was a mess up with the lab results. Fran is histiocytic after all. The good news is that the chemo we've been doing addresses that as well. It's not the ideal one but we haven't failed her completely.

I must have missed the post where you let us know what Fran actually is diagnosed with so I'll ask, what is her diagnosis? I'm sorry for the lab mix up, how upsetting/frustrating that must be. I'm glad the chemo is right.

oh no....not after getting the good news she wasnt.... thats worse than getting the news the 1st time. thank goodness the specific chemo she's already getting is what would have been recommended afterall

Oh no!
I am sorry the Lab messed up, what the heck? I am glad that it didn't do her any harm in her treatment plan, but so upset for you that you got incorrect information the first time. :-(

I don't know that I'll get this exactly right but I'll give it a shot. She was diagnosed with high grade splenic sarcoma. The additional lab tests after her spleen was removed and biopsied were to determine whether or not it was histiocytic and last week I was told it was not. Yesterday, I was told that that I was read the wrong results. So basically she has a rare cancer that is extremely malignant but there is no indication that it has spread. Usually it heads into the lymph system first but that came back benign. Plus all of her organs look fantastic. And our holistic vet is all over it. According to the literature, we're looking at about 18 months of high quality of life.
