Has he tried the Traumeel and Zeel yet or are they still on order? I'm just wondering if they're worth looking into or whether you think it's the Metacam that's helping.

No idea what you should do. If Oban got like that I doubt I'd suspect a stream since he's slurping and slopping in some wet spot most days. I can buy Traumeel here, in natural health (food) stores. I was never impressed with it at all but recently Oban's Vet told me it works best for acute pain, not chronic, and darn't if it didn't make a difference after that husky beat him up.

Maybe he strained those muscles making a jump into or out of your car? I know this happens with Dakota if she doesn't wait for me to boost her butt.

I haven't received the order yet. I had been thinking about changing his current supplements (Recovery SA, Boswellia/Turmeric, Microlactin, and Natural Egg Membrane) because he still has a bit of a limp on his front leg. Unfortunately acupucture didn't do anything for him. The Metacam has helped him, but it's not something I would want him to stay on if I can help it.

Normally I wouldn't think that the stream was an issue, but the change in his movements overnight was so troubling, and I do live in the raccoon capital of the world.

I have Pet Loader steps so he doesn't have to jump in and out of the car. I think it was a strained muscle or he moved the wrong way. These seniors can really make you worry.

Acupuncture did noticeably help Oban, the day AFTER he had it done. I was more impressed with Cold Laser though. Have you tried CL? Trouble is, it's not cheap but might be more effective more often than the once a month or so we go for it.

No, we haven't tried CL. I went with the acupuncture because the vet felt that he had more issues than just his front leg.

Wouldn't be on my list of potentials. Leptospirosis in the dog primarily affects the kidney and the few dogs that I have seen in my office came in with kidney disease. If he does not appear to be ill, just stiff, you might want to rest him, give him something for pain and watch him a couple of days. Good luck.
