    Back end weakness and pooping

Kimber's having trouble with her back end, and I think it's really hard for her to squat long enough to poop. She's doing okay urinating. For a while now she's done the walking poop- squat, poop, get up, walk a step, squat, poop a little more. But yesterday she started to go into a squat and then just stop herself. It took a few walks to get her to give up the goods. And today she refused to poop this morning- and ended up pooping in the house, while laying down in her bed.

I'm looking for ideas on how to support her to poop outside. When she was first recovering we used a sling, but I know if I introduced a sling while she was thinking of eliminating, it would totally weird her out and she'd do nothing. TIA!

When Samson had his TTA, I purchased a Help em Up harness (Tanya's recommendation). The harness with the leash on their website is very good for support. I supported Samson with that while he was popping. I was actually surprised he would with me holding and supporting him but he did. I tried a sling but he struggled with it.

I have used a Ruffwear Web Master harness to hold up the front end and middle with various dogs. The Help Em Up sounds good for a very weak rear.

I'm doing the same with Help em up harness. Just holding the back end while she is pooping.

hmm I wonder if some days Rock hurts and won't pee/poop are regularly. other days he seems fine. He had some liquid poop a few days and it was hard to watch him keep the squat...

With a female this won't be an issue but the help'em up harness gets in the way of Rocky peeing. I know it shouldn't, and I could probably order the other version (just the back-end part) but i haven't really needed to use it for that so it comes off on walks.

That is very good to know! Thanks!
I might consider the more elaborate Ruffwear harness that extends to the back end.

There are two options for the "back-end" part of the Help'em Up harness. based on the position of the male's penis I am pretty sure we'd be fine with the other one (you pick when you buy).

Hudler pottied on his bed a lot, unfortunately that was one of the signs for us to let him go. He was a lot more crippled by his rear end lameness though.
