Update: they are hotspots brought on by swimming and not drying thoroughly. They shaved her head and gave me meds and a cleaning solution to do a few times a day. Poor girl. They are just oozing, and bleeding. Vet recommends I get a dryer for her fur. I had Zero ideas about this type of thing and I have had labs for 13 years. Learn something new everyday.

Ugh! I hate hot spots. That’s an odd location though ... usually mine get them on their neck where the fur is really thick. (Mulder and now Cookie have had them - the rest haven’t yet).

China's fur is super thick on her head, this girl is so soft omg... see how her fur sidetracks you?? lol but yes its super thick there, no undercoat there of course but the only coat --the hairs are super close together. So shaved her and the meds are kicking in I think. Just now have to make sure she is thoroughly dried. Gonna look into those driers for dogs.
