    Liposarcoma?

So my Vala is now 9 and she unfortunately has hip dysplagia, spinal spondylosis, and multiple lipomas, but still does very well overall. A week ago my husband and I found a quarter sized bump on her rear leg. We of course brought her to the vet right away and they did a needle aspirate. They finally had the results today and he said it's looking like a lipoma under the scope but it had blood come with it too which is not normal for a lipoma so he thinks it may be a liposarcoma, but that it's not as bad as it sounds.

She is having surgical removal of it Thursday and they'll biopsy it then, but I'm finding a lot of conflicting information online about liposarcomas. Does anyone here have any experience with them?

Sorry, no experience. Hope surgery goes well! They'll be able to examine the lipoma better once it's out and then plan from there. Who knows why there was a little blood that came with the original aspirate? Hopefully it was just related to technique rather than the actual lipoma.

So we got results today after having surgery on Thursday and getting her dressing changed today. The tumor on her leg was a fibroma, not a liposarcoma, thankfully. However, when the vet was cleaning her teeth Thursday, he found a subcutaneous lump on her neck, near her jaw that he did a needle biopsy on which has come back as a mast cell tumor. My husband and I are devastated, we didn't even know she had a lump there. Our vet said that he will be speaking to an oncologist about the best approach with her because of the location on the tumor, he will have to take tissue down to the bone of her jaw. This poor 9 year old pup just can't stop growing lumps and bumps. We take her back in Friday for another dressing change on her leg where we'll hopefully have a better idea of the next approach.
