Any urban nature walks or urban gardens where dogs are allowed?

Or, just put him on a leash and let him lead you around the neighborhood.
we're not able to walk anywhere, even around the block anymore with this friggin heat wave. we're a week in and anther week to go at least I need a break in the weather. It's been a really bad week and a half I worry even with the car getting him in and out will potential jar something more.

Nowadays what makes Cilek happiest is spending time with cats. Not our cat Momo but stray cats, especially kittens. She LOVES them. So I'm trying to do my best to wait patiently while she is watching them and trying to catch them (falling regularly so I'm being there to lift her again and again).
I'm also giving her some "unhealthy" food from time to time to make her happy. I do not want to wait till the last days because I don't know when will be the last days.

I'm taking her to cafes sometimes. There she just sleeps under the table.

OK, now I'm motivated to take her out for some cat watching

Lucy wasn't up for longer walks toward the end, so I'd take a big blanket out to a park or grassy spot and we'd sit/lay down for hours. I'd knit or read or web surf, and she'd watch, sniff and nap. It seemed to make her happy. And I made more crock pots just for her - cooked chicken, potato and baby carrots. Or I'd cook up hamburger, mix it with brown rice and green beans. I cooked a lot for her in her last six months. And she finally got a puppocino from Starbucks - wish I'd learned about that sooner. Toward the end I don't think she was too comfortable in the car, so we limited car rides.
Enjoy this time, pretty much doing whatever makes him happy as time allows.

As soon as it cools down enough I hope to go sit out at the park

She loves water, it's the one labby trait she has besides loving food, so if I know we're getting close, I'd like to take her swimming and feed her a good burger and some ice cream. I'm hoping we still have a while to go though.
