Does Kimber's back end get lower when tired? Rocky has been having this issue (well more often than sporadically) this past week. His back legs get lower and lower (and like his tail is then touching the ground he is so low). After a rest things get better. Seems to really kick in after dinner so I am analyzing and changing our dinner routine (last night was better).

That used to happen with Jolie, who also had LP. I don’t think it was at all painful though, so we didn’t worry too much about it, other than to be sure to help her up/down any stairs, etc. She would fall down occasionally but again, didn’t seem at all phased by it, so I never thought she was in pain.

no it doesn't seem painful and he'll keep trying to move around (especially as this seems to happen most after dinner so he is busy doing his sniff through the room looking for kibble). But I am wondering if there are ways to avoid it. It was pretty bad for a few days. his overall energy was moderate as well. He doesn't do stairs on his own. He does fall/trip but so far has always gotten up on his own. Actually the poop incident was around this time. We have to shorten walks/be more careful on what I ask of him.

We've had two wonderful days with the much cooler weather (though the weather is really up and down,it's insane, one day's daytime high is the next days overnight low!)

I'm just seeing this. So sorry to hear that Kimber is not doing so good. Steep slopes are difficult even for Cookie, who is a year younger. He also has his fair share of arthritic issues.

The years really go by too fast. It's hard. Hang in there.

So glad Kimber keeps going, It's so hard watching them grow old and still giving us all they have.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Nope. With her, she uses her back left leg less and less, and when she's tired, it just hangs there. When she walks, her back right end starts swinging out because she's using that leg, and just barely touching down with the left. Sometimes I'll hold my hand pressed on her right hip to keep her aligned. She walks better then, but it's super awkward for me!
