    Rocky Update

Saw the vet. He said the first big cold can throw an old dog off pretty bad. Rock's back-end is worse so he did neural therapy, hopefuly that keeps us going for a bit.

Nothing is broken or sprained in the front end. and he doesn't feel any joint issues at all so Nsaids unlikely to really help in any way. He recommended laser on the front end (and did..some...eletrictherapy or something??). We did our first laser session, i found another place that is closer and has cheaper laser packages so am likely going to set up 5 more sessions (vet recommended 6 over 3 weeks). and some magnesium supplement.

He also recommends teeth scaling. I think he knew the odds of us doing a full on cleaning were small and he thinks he can scale some of the bad teeth (at risk of causing infection). He'd have me with him, and Rocky would get trazadone (?) a bit before hand and local anesthetic. waiting for a quote.

He didn't seem to think the heavier duty boots with grips wuld be the best thing to try (as I was thinking, likely to just throw him off balance a lot more). I may try a smaller size of the boot he is wearing. I think i've figured ut a way to help him without killing my back on walks.

he expects Rocky to sail thru xmas - he's ALWAYS told me this, he said Rock could make 14. I've always been the doubtful one :P

You boy's rocking the goggle look! Glad to hear things are better than you'd supposed...if only it were always that way. You're doing a good job with keeping Rocky moving...most likely that's gone a long way to his being in as good a shape as he is. (You might want to consider wearing a back brace when you walk him...it doesn't take much to throw yourself out.)

Electroacupuncture? My Vet is raving about it and would like to use it on Oban but he's too wiggly. She is treating one female doggy patient for urinary incontinence with it and says she and the owner are very pleased with the improvement they see already. I'd never heard of it before. Google it up, it's like snake oil (or vinegar or lemon juice) seems to have applications for many things.

It wasn't electro accupunture (based on the photos that came up when I googled it), no needles or anything in particularly close to rocky. it was this machine he held sorta away from Rocky. The neural therapy we do has needles but we've been doing it over a year.

Electrostimulation I guess, like this? (it's attached to Cookie's leg)

Or I found a better one:

Keeping my fingers crossed that Rocky feels better after the sessions!

Not this either, nothing was attached to him or touching him, just waved around him!
