    Thanks again everyone.

Things seem normall-ish (I don't even know what normal is at this point!) today. A better start anyway. Pooping outside again, going around the block (and extra steps this morning) normally. Standing normal on return. Regular-for-Rocky energy. Last night we did some back leg exercises.

Yesterday morning he pooped while I was putting his boots on :P And honestly, he didn't seem to know it was happening at all.

We have laser on Thursday and the vet on Friday so I can discuss if there is anything we can do that doesn't add a ton more money.

Glad to hear he's doing better today.

I hate that old dogs have to suffer all kinds of indignities in addition to (usually) pain and fear. My Hershey's spinal stenosis resulted in him losing all recognition of his bladder.

it's so sad. He doesn't generally seem...upset by it. Plus he eats the poop :P he must have pooped friday while i was at work, i could smell but not see. Based on how hte rest of the day went I am sure he went. Even overnight if he poops he's generally eaten most of it by the time I get out of bed to clean up.

One for one - I prefer poop to pee. Urine incidents would be much much harder to manage. The poops are clean so it's easy peasy, get a bag, toss it out. Throw blanket in the wash or spot clean carpet with a wipe if needed. And clean his bumb. Done. Pee - i don't want to imagine. I am lucky his bladder and all that is still strong (knock on wood)

Wonder if it was the weather on the weekend. The temps here really took a dive on Sat & Sun. Did you end up getting any pain meds (nsaid) from the vet?

    I always ownder about weather.

I am not convinced there is any pain that nsaids would help. he wasn't in pain as best i can assess. Just legs are low. Pain meds were discussed. At this point I give him til april/may at latest so nsaids can't really shorten things. last test they didn't seem to "help" at all.

Rocky's issues sound neurological to me, is there medication that could help with that? I know Cookie got some injections when he fell and started having neurological issues with his FHO leg. PT and exercises helped a great deal though. His FHO leg was falling in the hocks like Rocky's legs do.

It is ALL neurological. Very little in the way of arthritis per say (not saying none at all but not a lot). He is on gabapentin for pain management and various supplements. For treatment he gets neuraltherapy (can't say if it works but won't stop it) monthly and now laser. We try to do some exercises but it is hard on bad days, I don't know if it will make things better or worse. Will chat again with the rehab/laser lady. The neuraltherapy hopefully is helping with some neurological pain and keeping the signal going.

All in all I think it is surprising his body is still holding out for the most part. The issues started a good 4 years ago and been fairly significant. but progression has been slow when I look at it that way. It would have been interesting ot see how well he would have aged without this issue. but, if it isn't one thing it is another really at 13!
