Hug your seniors extra tonight. Update on Opal at 12.8 years old.

Ugh, I just read about the losses of Kimber and Fran and these break my heart .

With Opal being 12.8 years old and seeing her slowing down - due to her arthritis, just kills my heart. Opal is doing well, still has a good appetite and barks at us when she wants her meals or treats, which always makes me smile, because she's still alive and barking. She still enjoys her walks, although they're at her pace now and still plays with Ursa, until Ursa becomes a pain in Opal's cute butt and then Opal tells her off. I can't imagine life without our Opie, but.......

Ya, go and hug your seniors extra tight tonight.

I know my heart is breaking. A friend also lost her older dog on Friday to add to the losses on the board.

Rocky is on his last hurra. At best we have until may-june but he may not make his birthday either (April 27 - three months).

I just want some decent weather so he can enjoy his sniffy outside time it's been ice for a week now including the road and sidewalks. We haven't had any slips because I support him but it is taking away from what is his limited quality of life at this point.

Opal sounds like she is still happy and doing well even with the slow down. I found Rocky didn't even want to do the things he couldn't do anymore and was content with "less" (or "different" as I try to find more mentally stimulating things)

And just read about Calley. Whew....

I guess it's to be expected when so many of us have mature pups...but each loss is such a hit. Every dog here feels like family.

And Oya lost her precious Cilek recently.....I think of her often, and wonder how she is doing, as I haven't seen anything on here since from her......Each loss is a reminder to me (not that I need a reminder) that my Molly is now 13 1/2......time is precious, and so are these precious furbabies who go through our lives with us, through thick or thin. Yes, hug them.

January has been a rough month for the lab board family for sure. Even though most of us haven't meet each other we all shed a few tears over the loss of each our pups and I think that's why this board just rocks because we all care about each other.

I saw this too and it made me cry. Been thinking about Montana and Dakota a lot lately and it still hurts. I’m thankful for China and I still love Amber Pie....
