Oh poor girl. Sending good thoughts! Good to hear she has improved some with the treatment.
Opal has been having mild bladder issues for the past year, which we've treated with alternative and conventional treatments. About 6 weeks ago, Opal had a UTI for which she was put on antibiotics. All was well until early Monday morning Opal woke me up with a loud cry and needed outside in a hurry. We caught her pee and it was very bloody with small pieces of blood in the catch. (Ironically, Dr. Wanda had phoned on the previous Thursday to ask how Opal was doing.) I put a call into the vet on Monday to report what was going on. Tomorrow Opal will have a Cystocentesis (a long needle into her bladder to draw out an uncontaminated sample) and we'll go from these results.
Ironically, too, we went camping again 2 weeks ago and my sister developed a UTI over past weekend, so we had the stuff in the house for natural/home treatments. We put Opal on the same treatment as sis, and low and behold, this afternoon's pee catch shows that Opal's pee is much less bloody, and Opal is more perky instead of lethargic. Treatment is; increased cran-caps and pro-bios, Echinacea, Cantharis/homeopathy, Arinca/homeopathy for pain, and drinking more water.
Please keep Opal in your thoughts and prayers that she'll not be too stressed with tomorrows tests and this is just a bad UTI and nothing more serious.
Thanks!

I think that improvement you saw was a good sign.
All good thoughts headed your way for this being just a UTI and not freaking out your sweet pup.
Thoughts and prayers for Opal.
All good thoughts.
Sending good thoughts and lab board MOJO Opal is on the mend and all goes well with the test.
Good thoughts heading your way for Opal and Sis. They must both be very uncomfortable. If Opal gets completely better first your Sis might see if your Vet will take her on as a patient too. Kidding.

I hope her treatment turns out to just be a routine UTI. Her crying out and waking you must have been rather heart wrenching! I'm glad things are calming down.
Fingers and pads crossed that the visit goes well. Keeping you and opal in my thoughts
