Leeloo is doing better. Yesterday & Today she has been more mobile and wags her tail at us. It's these times that make us think she still not ready to go... she is still trying.

She hasn't had potty accidents inside but outside she is still going in the patio and even poops while walking before she makes it to the grass.

I am glad that Leeloo is having a few good days. She is such a pretty girl, you can't help but smile back at her picture.

My Bailey would loose control of his bowels in the house not even knowing he was having an accident. He also needed help getting up from a sitting position. My Sarah just turned 12 yrs and is starting to struggle. She was just to the vet and i was told her knees are good just her hips, which we knew was going on as she is starting to have trouble jumping up onto the couch and bed. It is so hard watching them get older.

Quality of life is all I look for when my babies get older. My heart goes out to you and your Leeloo keeping you both in our thoughts.

I am really sorry. Good to hear she is doing better today. No matter how long they live, it's never long enough.

Thinking of you & sending along lots of hugs for beautiful, precious Leeloo, as well as many thoughts & prayers that she will do o.k & can have a little more time with you. It is the hardest thing we go through! My Molly made it to 13 1/2 before liver disease caught up with her, and that was terrible. Still broken hearted over my sweet girl. Please give Leeloo hugs for me.

She has a spring to her step this morning. :-)

Yesterday, I took Leeloo to the vet to have her anal glands expressed. This week we noticed she was leaving a residue wherever she would lay, but when the technician looked at her, she called the vet in. It wasn't her anal glands, but a urinary track infection. They also noted some her hair loss, and a pot belly, and that she had lost weight from her last visit, they asked how thirsty she was, and my poor Leeloo she is insatiable, can't get enough water lately. So the vet did a complete exam and lab work.

The Vet initially thought she had cushing's disease, but the results didn't confirm it. The blood work showed she was slightly anemic, and (gosh I'm horrible with medical terminology) but her white blood cell count was off, and that something is off with her kidneys. She is not diabetic, but her cholesterol was also slightly elevated (that would be my husband's fault, because he has been giving her extra treats since we lost Max)

Now she is scheduled for an ultra sound on Friday to try and see what could be going on with her. She is on Amoxicillin twice a day for her urinary track infection.

But I see her so lively today, she is wagging her tail non-stop, and walking around so much! Gives me Hope!

I'm glad to hear maybe it's a relatively benign UTI that was getting her down, nothing more serious. It's always heartening to see them feeling better. Sending mojo for continued good progress.

Good to hear Leelou may only have a UTI, that is treatable.

We got the results from the ultra sound yesterday, and Leeloo has a tumor on her adrenal gland that is fairly large. It causing the Cushing's Disease. They could not determine if it was malignant or benign. The vet did not recommend surgical removal, because it is too close to a major artery. He said to just keep her comfortable until her time comes. Her electrolytes were good, and that she is not diabetic are good signs.

We ordered her some boots, hoping that helps her get traction when she is trying to sit up. Right now, that is her biggest struggle, sitting and standing up. Once she is up, she stays up.
