UPDATE - OUR BABY IS HOME!

They gave Daisy mannitol to reduce brain pressure late on Thursday night. She started to immediately improve. Based on how quickly it started to work, they suspect it's something in her head. So either a brain tumor, either a new tumor or the pituitary tumor that caused the Cushing's, or something bacterial like meningitis or a tick Bourne illness. Nothing can really be ruled out without and MRI. The MRI would require sedation. At this time we're not sure we want to put her through any of that. They wanted to keep her for one more night to administer more mannitol and keep her under observation but we opted to bring her home and the vet said that was totally fine. Daisy is on prednisone and doxycycline to continue to treat any brain inflammation and bacterial causes.

She's still lethargic and is not eating, she licked the can food that I had out for her twice but otherwise will not eat. I gave her some anti nausea pills and appetite stimulants last night. She is drinking plenty of water. I tried to see if she would at least eat some chicken broth but no luck with that either. I have some rice, canned food, and her regular kibble out for her. We're just trying to give her a little time but will try syringe feeding her tonight. She's resting on her bed and otherwise doing fine. We are just so thankful to have her home and our taking everything one step at a time.

We appreciate all the prayers, good thoughts, and mojo sent our way.

See if she'll take some NutriCal or Dyne (high calorie stuffs) to get some nutrients in her. I think Dyne is tastier.

Mojo continuing for Daisy to keep improving.
