It's been a while since I posted about Opal. We saw Dr. Wanda yesterday and Opal is doing quite well for an almost 14 yo (next month - May 20th). She has bad arthritis in most of her joints, so we've added Glycoflex to her list of supplements, and trying a different homeopathic. Considering Opal's life-long history of joint diseases and surgeries, we're not surprised she has severe arthritis, but it's still sad to see her struggling with her sore legs at times...more massages are now in Opal's daily routine - as per her vet's advice. Opal's heart and lungs sound good and strong. Overall it was a good visit, Opal is a happy and mostly healthy senior girl and we love her tons.
Next week is Ursa's vet visit...
It sounds like Opal is doing fairly well, all things considered. It's so hard to watch our pups get old and struggle.
We just added a (double) dose of Gabapentin to Sunnie's Rovera...it seems to be helping with the pain somewhat, though I imagine we'll eventually be going to the double dose three times a day instead of the present twice. Sunnie's losing control of her hind end and has had discomfort issues from a spot on her spine the entire 10 years that we've had her (x-ray shows nothing but she has a sore spot and has always hated going up hills).
Good luck with Ursa!
So sorry, Opal. It's hard to see the struggles but they do it with such grace.

Glad to see the visit went well over all.
