Wow. Complete blood work, stool sample, exams with both conventional and holistic vets. No Lyme, parasites, heart issues, thyroid issues and her BUN is back in normal range. She's deaf, pretty much blind, hypothyroid (under control), digestive issues (under control), laryngeal paralysis (keeping her calm), vertigo (under control), cancer (free for two years) and incontinent (great with baths and rear end grooming) but she jumped in the car with guidance for her last exam today and what can I say? Her sniffer still works and she's a happy dog!
Kind of made me want to cry in a weird way.
I couldn't help but say to my husband that we're going to lose her to something really weird.
She's a testament to your wonderful, loving, care. May she continue to have many happy days!

Yes, Nikki is a lucky dog to have you looking out for her.

That's good, way to go Nikki! As long as they are happy the minor inconveniences don't matter.

Dogs adjust so much better to bad situations than we do. Our last lab Sophie went completely blind and deaf before we lost her. I hated seeing her that way but she got around the house pretty well and got up every morning and found her way around the bed to stick her wet nose on my arm and let me know she was around. Miss that sweet girl! Good luck with Nikki!
