I'm no longer on the fence. There's something in her eyes this afternoon and the way she is sleeping. It's time. We may be going to the ER Vet this weekend if she seems uncomfortable. Otherwise, Monday is the day. I have some peace in knowing that it is definitely time. However, I am still crushed. It's heartbreaking. But, this is my final act of love for her. She deserves the best of what I have to give her. Helping her leave this life peacefully is what I choose to do if I can - we don't always have that choice.

I happened to read something somewhere about people with near-death experiences. Many have said that their pets that passed on before them were some of the first to greet them during that experience. Who knows what really happens but I'm confident we will see our pets again one day. That, I hold on to and it gives me great comfort.

Thank you ALL again. I appreciate your prayers and kind thoughts. I will keep you posted.

You both will be in our thoughts this weekend. You can hold her and she will will be sedated and she will relax and it should be very peaceful for her. We are so sorry for your heartbreak. They are never with us long enough. John always says we know what we are signing up for when they are cuddly little furballs but I keep hoping even though I know better that this time it will be different and we have our whole lives together. Sigh- I wish we could give you a great big hug. It is not easy but it is the right, kind and compassionate thing to do.

Again, so sorry. Good to hear you are more at peace with the decision. If only they could live longer, be with us longer. In their short life they give us love and devotion that far exceeds their years.

Will be thinking about you. Sending comforting prayers.

We always give our pets a lot of love the day we take them to the vet for help to the bridge. Full body massages and lots of hugs and kisses. We get down on the floor with them and lie with them for a bit.
