Capstar only gets rid of the existing fleas on your pets. Will not prevent a reinfestation. Also is a little pricey to use often.

Consider diatomaceous earth (food grade only, not what you use in a pool). You can put it right on the dog and you can feed it as well. You can also sprinkle it around your house. It cuts the shells of the fleas and they dry out and die.

I'm hoping to break the life cycle as my dogs are on setinal and frontline. I would do Trifexis but now with it being linked to dog deaths I'm kinda hesitant. The cats are also on Frontline which I never had to use on them ever. I work at a vet so I get capstar at cost so it's not as expensive. It's cheaper than an exterminator. I haven't found any on my animals I did find one on my cat tonight. I think with frontline they die within 24 hours of biting with the trifexis its 30 mins.

I am also bathing Loki in organic shampoo with tea tree oil and that seems to be helping. I am a little hesitant to use Capstar on a senior, so think I should consult my vet. Thanks.
