Anyone Have Any Experience Using Supplements for Senior Care

I am an advocate for us humans using whole food supplements (not manufactured but derived from food). Why it didn't occur to me before now to supplement my Holly in her advancing age I don't know. Grrrr! Anyone have any thoughts other than the obvious glucosamine/chondroidin?? I know Alfalfa helps us with inflammation and allergies, but I'm wondering about immune support? I would love your input!

Does Holly have any joint issues? My 9 y/o has hip and spine arthritis, she gets Hylasport, vitamin C, and salmon oil daily and a dose of vitamin E 3 times weekly. These supplements have helped her immensely.

I use Spirulina for my old horse. It really, really helps with his allergic cough and helps with immune support for him. No knowledge on if it works in dogs. It's really gross and smelly, but it helps him tremendously.

I buy it on Amazon, $15 or so for a pound container that lasts at least 6 months. Much cheaper than the human natural foods store, but the same exact stuff.

Ours like Hylasport available at PupSup.com

Cant say definitively if it works or not but the reviews are good and ingredients seem to be highly recommended.

With seniors I've consistently used Cosequin D, vitamin C and Grizzly salmon oil.

i use green lipped mussel from haretoday. proven to be better than chondroitin and glucosamine.
they all get probiotics, and when tummies are upset , slippery elm.
jake gets metamucil and pumpkin, a blob of yogurt.

Go to my health page on www.windycanyonlabs.com. Cholodin would be a good choice, but oh so many things are out there too! I use spirulina in a homemade green mix too....
