Lab Board loses another Senior Lab

Do me a favor. Go hug your Senior Lab. Now, before you read this please.

    Thanks.

As some of you know, our Midnight had been battling cancer and then seizures for about the past year. Recently he had developed increasingly severe weakness in his back legs. We tried everything that we and our awesome veterinary care teams could think of to do. This past weekend, the weakness had gotten to the point where the poor boy could not get up any longer on his own. The tail wouldn't wag (VERY unusual) and much of the happy fire was gone from his eyes. Monday was no better, so we went into the vet to see if there was anything else to be done, knowing that we may have to make a tough decision. Our vet confirmed that if his meds, that included a heavy dose of Prednisone, could not make things better, there was nothing else that could be done.

So we said goodbye to our sweet, big, happy boy Midnight on Monday afternoon. Tribute to be written soon in the Rainbow Bridge area.

But for now, I'm late in buttoning up last month's photo contest. I haven't wanted to be on the board until today.

Yes and thank you and sorry for your loss as well. Mulder's and Midnight's symptoms and conditions were very similar. Mulder was and is very much on our minds.
