Jessie doesn't like her bed(s) anymore

All of a sudden, Jessie wants nothing to do with any of her many cushie doggie beds. She has one in almost every room but won't sleep in any of them. I've even invited her up on our bed & altho she usually is delighted to join us, she won't anymore.
She does have trouble jumping up on our bed but her own beds are of course on the floor.
She has a favorite old leather couch downstairs & she sleeps most of the time there or on the hard floor or carpet.
Has anyone had this change of behaviour in their dog?
Could it be possible that she has a sore spot & the soft bed makes her uncomfortable.
I wouldn't mind starting her on a joint/pain supplement but would appreciate any recommendations from those of you who use one. Certainly don't want nsaids or prescriptions drugs at this point.
    Thanks!

Maybe the heat is really bothering her? My previous dog seemed to become more heat intolerant as he aged. My puppy will only lay in the wood or tile right now, right on or in front of the a/c vents.

That would be my first guess too, age increased heat intolerance.

More than my puppy does, Chase will ignore his beds for the hardwood floors once it starts getting warmer outside. He's 7 years old now but has done this for years. In the bedroom, he starts on his bed because he knows that's where he needs to be to get his bedtime snack. Minutes later, he's on the bare floor. If your Jessie was avoiding one bed, I'd think there was something about that one bed she didn't like. Since it's all, I'd suspect the heat. Does she have trouble arising from her dog beds? If so, she might have some joint discomfort, but I'd think you might have seen limping or other signs of discomfort during other activities like running, playing, going up or down steps, not just getting up from lying down.

As for supplements, Cosequin DS, Dasuquin, Hylasport, and Glycoflex seem to be more popular brands among those using pet supplements. Some are using human glucosamine/chondroitin supplements, some are using additional things like Vit C, fish oil, green lipped mussel, all sorts of stuff. Probably supplements with glucosamine and chondroitin are where most people start. My vet said be sure to get one that has MSM in it, along with the gluc and chond.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Somehow I don't think its the heat. We've had very little hot or even warm weather here lately except for a couple of nights, we've still had the furnace on! Very strange weather in Ontario lately. It was almost 80 & humid around 11 a.m. & now it is down to 60. You all could be right, but she still loves her old leather couch & it gets pretty warm with her body heat. She is much slower on the stairs, walks carefully up rather than bolt up & is extremely careful going down. So I do suspect some joint problem but can see no limp. I noticed the other night when we were giving her the foot bath that she wouldn't let me pick up her left hind leg, she just stubbornly kept all her weight on it but let me pick up her right hind leg. But when I get her to lie down & flex her back legs, she doesn't bat an eye.
I'm going to replace her "snack" time bed with just a blanket & see if that makes a difference.
Thanks for the various joint supplements....I'll check out what the vet thinks too & go from there. Can't hurt to get her onto something now just as a preventative if there isn't already a problem starting.

Was thinking about warmer weather too. Mardi has a bad hip and a bad knee and loves her beds but she will get up and lay on the hard tile which is much cooler.

If Jesse is having some discomfort, a little inflammation in joints, that also causes heat.
