When we picked her up, my friend said, "She fell over while peeing- does that usually happen?" NO. She had atrophied so fast. She seems better now, but it's hard to figure out how much to push her.

So...I remain somewhat fearful and neurotic, but do not have immediate, pressing concerns. That's probably the best I can hope for with a 10.5 year old!
Wow never would have thought things could atrophy that fast.

I don't remember what exactly what had happened to her initially? back injury? Was it a nerve issue? Sounds like she is doing pretty well but i hear you on fearful! How long are her walks?

Rock's nerve issue has gotten much worse and it was pretty sudden, he's really slowed down. we're doing daily exercise for his back legs muscles. I am also unsure how far to push his walks. on Sunday we did what was a "new normal short walk" and I wasn't sure he'd make it back He has much less control of his back legs and will sometimes step on the top of his foot (unable to get it back down properly).

It's hard for me to think Kimber is a senior!

Buddy had fecal incontinence toward the end (he was around 15 or so) but it wasn't a huge problem (except for the three bouts of explosive diarrhea). Usually, his poops were well formed, so once a week or so we just found one here or there and picked it up. It was no worse than dealing with the hairballs my cats "give" me from time to time.
