Great news for your Montana!
Glad you got things under control, and I'm glad to see Montana is doing much better!
Great news for your Montana!
I'm so glad Montana's spark is back. There are no words to describe how you feel when that happens.
With my previous dog, we tried so many things but found that a third of a tin of salmon mixed in with her regular food renewed her interest in eating best. Still on her terms though. She remained picky about how much she'd eat at one time, when or where she'd eat. Sometimes from her bowl, sometimes by hand but for the most part, the salmon & all the oils/juices helped her eat almost her normal amount per day. Every dog and situation is different but I thought it was worth sharing.
Sending you good thoughts and wishes. Montana sounds like he's surrounded by love.
What a relief for you and all of us here. This Vet is a god send. Here's hoping the UTI clears up easily and the med help is well tolerated. Good wishes for Montana and you.

TUESDAY Update:
Vet said give him a whole Zofran. No change. He eats treats-various junk food treats. A bowl of Great Grains cereal today ( same as yesterday) I see no increase in his desire or downgrade of his pickiness. I see less nausea after the pills-but he's not eating a good amount, not enough to sustain the weight of a now 74 lbs. dog ( that used to be 85 lbs.) Still wagging tail, playing, loving but not eating enough. He will eat no meat. I am about to start freaking out. Mojo please ....food was always such a joy to him....
Has your Vet discussed using prednisone? It will typically reduce inflammation while increasing appetite. Tanner never made it that far to try a round of pred but it was the next step for him.
Thoughts are with you.

No-no one has mentioned it to me. I always understood that to be the last resort, is that right? And at this point I need any resort at all I think. This will most likely buy us a bit more time? she just said to call to let her know either way if the current dosage is working or not. I plan to call by morning if there is no change in tonight's eating. That would give him 24 hours and 2 cycles of the current dosage. I have no idea how these pills even work-do they work right away, how long do the effects last...I've got to find out
Prednisone was all we ever had Jolie on - when they gave us the diagnosis, I asked about putting her on the prednisone just to keep her comfortable. As you say, prednisone is a drug of last resort, but realistically you are there. She was on it for around 5-6 months with no problems, andI know of at least one dog put on prednisone as a “last resort” for severe arthritis that lived another 5 years, all the while taking the prednisone.

sending mojo! sorry you are going through such a frustrating time.
Sorry I have no experience with any of the drugs you are using, so no insight there.
Annette-yes I am there. Unless there are other drugs...I don't know. What are the side effects besides the peeing? What does prednisone do and what is it meant for? Can it calm nausea AND stimulate appetite?
