I thought about you when I read this this morning:
Backyard chicken boom produces a growth industry: Rent-a-hens - The Washington Post

thats a good idea! try-before-you-buy kind of thing, interesting to read how many of the renters turn into owners, after having the chickens and presumably getting to know them.
I wonder how many of the renters end up bringing their chickens into their houses.....
I had thought of doing that for tick control years ago but around here, people just go to one of the local feed stores and plop the birds in their backyards since it's a Right to Farm community.
It's a great idea but that's expensive!
Would love to have a couple of bantams but would have to move to another location. Not allowed in our community.
interesting!
Love to have a few chickens for some fresh eggs, but already looked into the laws here. Forbidden in our community to have any livestock.
Interesting idea though.
