That's really cool! I never knew these existed, but they are a great idea!
From CBC: Toronto fire crews provided oxygen to a man and his dog after a fire broke out in a low rise apartment building early Saturday.

The rescue group we've fostered for donated masks to our fire department. Do you know if your fire department has pet O2 masks?

It is very cool. Rescues, vets, and other animal assistance groups donate them. This is the first photo I remember seeing of one in use. It can't be easy for a conscious, stressed pet to allow an emergency responder to put what must be a wierd mask over their face. Even more kudos to first responders!

Yes, an invisible fence company donated masks to our township and some others a couple of years ago. It's such a good idea. Thanks for posting that story.

Awesome work by the firefighters.
I have been on a campaign to get pet air masks to all local fire stations. It's fun to visit the stations, they are always so welcoming. During the visit I ask if they have a supply of the masks for pets. A complete set is $50 and one of the things that gets cut when budgets get tight. One station in a local town is constantly in need as they are in an area with a lot of farm animals and pets. Our town stations have fortunately gotten a supply.
On a visit with Archie to our local fire station, had a discussion what EMS would do on an emergency call where a dog was present. All those strange people dressed "funny" could panic a dog or the dog may go into protective mode. They partner with AC if there is a problem so that the dog is safely controlled and fire/EMS can do the work they need to do.
I encourage you to visit your local fire station and spend some time with these wonderful people, firefighters and EMTs. Ask them if they have the equipment necessary for pets. Take along a pile of home made cookies or a cake - they love the goodies.
